Al-Hikmah Islamic School – New Building Appeal

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Al-Hikmah Academy opened its doors in Birmingham in 2009 with 30 pupils and a dream: to provide an education that is academically rigorous, Islamically grounded, and free from the compromises Muslim parents are too often forced to accept.

Alhamdulillah, today we have 340 pupils aged 4–16. Our GCSE results consistently rank us in the top 10% of schools nationally. Our hafidh programme has produced 14 graduates. Our pastoral care is second to none — because our teachers don't just teach; they mentor, they pray with students, and they model what it means to be a Muslim professional.

The problem: We have 180 children on our waiting list and we're turning away families every year.

The solution: A second campus, 1.4 miles from our current site.

We have already secured a 25-year lease on a former community centre in Handsworth. The building needs significant renovation before it can be used as a school. Here's the breakdown:

We are raising £250,000 (approximately $315,000 at current rates) to cover all costs with a small buffer for unexpected expenses.
