Wells of Mercy Initiative

The Wells of Mercy Initiative is a humanitarian campaign dedicated to providing sustainable access to clean drinking water for underserved Muslim communities facing water shortages and poor sanitation conditions throughout rural areas of Algeria. Many families in isolated villages travel long distances daily to collect unsafe water, affecting health, education, and daily life.

Through this campaign, the Green Crescent Islamic Foundation aims to construct multiple deep-water wells, install hand-pump systems, and provide water storage solutions for villages, schools, and local masājid. The initiative also includes hygiene awareness programs and support for families affected by seasonal droughts.

Donations will help cover drilling operations, equipment installation, maintenance supplies, and transportation of materials to remote locations. Community volunteers and local workers will collaborate to ensure long-term sustainability and proper maintenance of the wells after completion.

The campaign hopes not only to provide immediate relief, but also to create lasting benefit for generations through continuous access to safe water and improved living conditions.

Objectives:

• Construct 8 deep-water wells
• Provide clean water access to 5,000+ residents
• Install water storage tanks near local masājid and schools
• Organize hygiene and sanitation awareness workshops
• Support drought-affected families with emergency water supplies
